Large Antique Oak and Steel Reinforced Stately Home Silver Chest (SOLD)

Circa 1890, would have been used for storing important and infrequently used silver, possibly for a large family chapel.  There is no lock and the original blue baize lining is worse for wear – non-existent on the base of the chest. There is a removable flush fitting tray and a huge amount of storage. It has two heavy duty iron handles and can be lifted (empty) by two strong people.
