]]> Rare Large 1860’s Vietnamese Carved Wooden Religious Statue of St Dominic with Glass Eyes SALE (SOLD) https://churchantiques.com/product/rare-large-1860s-vietnamese-carved-wooden-religious-statue-of-st-dominic-with-glass-eyes-sale/ Fri, 02 Jun 2023 11:48:52 +0000 https://staging.churchantiques.com/?post_type=product&p=30730 Literally a barn find in rural Vietnam some 30 years ago.  This statue dates from the mid 19th Century occupation of Vietnam by France when there was a boom in Catholicism.  With sensitive mien this locally made figure was repainted probably in the 1950's.  Bar losses due to life in the tropics, St Dominic is chiefly intact.  Base is later.
