Box itself is in good condition notwithstanding repairs. However there is no key which means it is not practical to carry the altar when closed with the handle - it would have to be strapped up until a key could be made. A velvet lined compartment for chalice, paten etc, sadly empty, is under a lift up lid. The stand out detail is the carved Lamb of God. With some work and equipping this would make an excellent travelling altar set.
