18th Century Pewter ‘Royal Abbey York’ Chalice & Altar Sticks (SOLD)

Dating from around 1760, these would have been made for the nascent Catholic market that existed in England at the time.  The Chalice is inscribed ‘Royal Abbey York’ which was destroyed in the Reformation of 1539.  This set in its own way, commemorates this.  Hallmarks on all three pieces.
