St Botolphs, Boston 1852 Carved Oak Heritage Pews

Fantastic carved Gothic pews from the 14th Century church that was the spiritual home of the Puritan Fathers who went on to found the ‘City on the Hill’, Boston in Massachusetts.  Much of the planning and financing for the Massachusetts Bay Colony happened in and around this church.  The farewell sermon for John Winthrop’s fleet was preached here in 1630.  Carved by hand by the best craftsmen of the county of Lincolnshire.  Because of their age and type of construction, these pews have a slightly uneven, characterful appearance.  Carvings will vary from pew to pew.
