Welcome

You're Very Welcome Here

We're a small, friendly team working out of a big old barn on a farm just outside Betchworth. There's no glossy showroom – just two floors stacked high with church furniture and fittings, and people who know where things are. (Well, most things.)

Pull into the yard, knock on the office door to say hello, and take your time. If something catches your eye, ask us about it – we'll tell you what we know about where it came from.

– The team at Antique Church Furnishings

Getting here

On the edge of Betchworth

We're on Snowerhill Road, on the edge of Betchworth village – about ten minutes' drive from Dorking or Reigate, and a quarter of an hour from junction 8 of the M25.

Look out for our white Church Antiques sign, nestled in the hedgerow at the farm entrance, then follow the track into the yard.

Coming by train

Betchworth station, on the North Downs line, is about a mile and a half away – a few minutes in a taxi, or a half-hour walk along country lanes. From further afield, Dorking and Reigate stations are each about ten minutes' drive from us.

When you arrive

Turn In, Park Up, Say Hello

  1. A gravel farm track with a white fingerpost sign reading Church Antiques, marking the way in to Fryleigh Farm Barn in Betchworth

1 Turn in at our sign

Our sign hangs from a black post at the farm entrance on Snowerhill Road, half-hidden by the hedge – it's easy to drive past, so keep an eye out. Turn in and follow the track into the yard.

  2. The old Antique Church Furnishings lorry, painted with the company name and website, parked beside the farm grain silos

2 Park up by the silos

There's plenty of room to park in the yard. You'll spot the big grain silos and our old lorry with our name down the side – that's how you know you're in the right place.

  3. The office portacabin with its red door and the warehouse beyond, on the far side of the yard at Fryleigh Farm Barn, with cars parked in front

3 Say hello at the office

Our office and the warehouse are on the opposite side of the yard – the office is the portacabin with the red door. Give it a knock so we know you're here, then take your time.

And upstairs…

Gilded angels, Madonnas, painted banners and carvings keep watch from the mezzanine rail. It's worth the climb – and if you'd rather not, we'll bring smaller pieces down.

Your questions

Questions People Ask

Do I need an appointment?

No – just turn up during opening hours. If you're coming a long way, or for a particular piece, give us a ring first and we'll make sure it's still here.

What time should I arrive?

We're open 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Aim to arrive by 3pm – there's a lot to see, and we'd hate you to feel rushed.

Can I bring my dog?

Please do. Dogs are more than welcome here.

Is there parking?

Yes – plenty of free parking in the yard.

How can I pay?

Card or cash, whichever suits you.

Can I take chairs or pews home on the day?

A few, usually – we keep some samples that can go home with you. Larger quantities, and anything made to measure, need to be pre-ordered so we can prepare them – order ahead and we'll have them ready and waiting. Or we can deliver.

Will someone help me load the car?

Yes, there's usually someone on hand to help. The really big pieces can need more than two people, so bring a friend if you're after something large – and measure your car first.

Is the whole warehouse accessible?

The main floor is at ground level. The mezzanine is up a staircase – if stairs aren't easy for you, just ask and we'll happily bring smaller pieces down for you to see.

Can you deliver instead?

Yes, we deliver across the UK. See delivery costs and times.

Do you sell to the public, or just the trade?

Both – and everyone pays the same prices. We sell to members of the public all over the UK, as well as to dealers, decorators and designers. Smaller pieces can often be sent abroad too – just ask.

Can I hire furniture for an event or a production?

Yes – chapel chairs, pews and much more, for weddings, events, film and theatre. See how hire works.

I've got church furniture to sell. Are you interested?

Very likely. Tell us about it here.
