Circa 1900’s Victorian Scumble Painted Church Pews (SOLD)

Dating from around 1900 and coming from the Cornerstone Church of Uckfield these pews are an excellent example of the art of Victorian Scumbling.  This is an intricate paint finish created using steel combs to make pine look like oak.  Previously we used to strip pews like this but now there is a good demand for authentic examples of this old art. There are scuffs and scratches accrued over the years giving this extra character.
